Back to Work: How did you accessorize today?

Not gonna lie, when Monday roles around, I look at my jewelry collection and scratch my head, since I am still groggy from the weekend! So, I proceed to layer random bracelets and bangles and call it a day. I am always looking for a hint of inspiration!

Hope these fabulous layers upon layers of bedazzlement (not to mention those fabulous leopard shoes) bring you revelation on what all the fun things you can do with your current accessories at home...On that note, how did you accessorize today?

Monochromatic Mavens

Easy, breezy and monochromatic tones are all the rage this summer. Not only are they flattering and extremely elongating, (hello, sold on that alone), but they are also incredibly chic and can have a dramatic impact.

I am adoring Emily's look in the last picture of the blue stripes and navy skirt--quintessentially Summer style at it's best! However, all of these stylistas totally have the look down, like Anh in her all nude ensemble and grey . Or, we can always throw on a loose white button up and pair it with loose white shorts, skirt or pants and a fabulous pair of nude sandals and we are ready to rock this monochromatic look...

I think that I found my Friday outfit inspiration for tomorrow ; )

Vegas Bound!!!

Hello all! One of my best girlfriends just surprised me last week with a spur of the moment trip to Vegas, and duh, who could turn that down?! We are staying at the always chic and happening "The Hotel" at the Mandalay Bay. Right now, I am packing like crazy and pulling out all my fabulous dresses which (let's face it, have been collecting dust recently!)...Needless to say, I am quite excited...
So, now I have not one but two trips that I need to post pics for when I return: the Mexican Riviera and now Vegas! I promise to post right when I return. It will happen!

Packing my bags and getting ready for the city that never sleeps. Hopefully, I will be able to get some sleep tonight...I am way too excited for some girl time and laying poolside with drinks in hand! xo

My Long Skirt Obsession

Hello friends! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I apologize for being MIA. I know you understand how it is when you come back from a trip and have a ton of work to catch up on!

Anyways, I know the long skirt trend has been around for awhile now, but I am especially loving this easy breezy and oh-so-comfortable look more than ever! I am all about comfort nowadays, so I have naturally gravitated towards long skirts, especially for this summer. However, maxi skirts can be worn all year round, so it is worth the investment to get an extra soft and better quality one. I adore the bright skirts paired with a white button up for work or even paired with a bright top for the perfect clock block look. Not to mention, I am swooning over the pleated skirt which hits right at the calf--hello, fifties fabulous?!

I am traveling this weekend for a spur of the moment trip to Vegas (quite excited) and will be sure to wear my cozy maxi skirt on the plane!

Gucci Resort 2012

Gold, nude, dashes of yellow, pops of purple and red, and Summer stripes, lead to the perfect Gucci 2012 resort collection. Frida Gianni's latest collection has complete wear-ability coupled with color blocks that will make any girl swoon.

p.s. I am still sorting through my pictures from my Mayan Riviera vacay...stay tuned for a post this week on my adventures!

Adios Mis Amigos!

I cannot believe the day is here! Tomorrow morning I will be jetting off to Cancun, where we will take a car to Playa del Carmen and stay for four days at Le Reve Hotel and Spa, three days at Cabanas La Luna in Tulum, and back to Cancun for a night.

My boyfriend and I are planning on exploring the numerous underwater caves (cenotes), the beautiful island of Cozumel, Xelha, Xacaret, the Mayan Ruins in Tulum and whatever other adventures come our way! Of course, there will be plentiful naps, delicious margaritas and mouthwatering food. I seriously cannot wait...

I am resisting the urge to take my laptop (gasp) so I will be out of commission in the blogosphere until I return July 11th. Stay tuned for numerous pictures and stories when I return! Hasta luego mis amigos!! xo

Hello again! + Beautiful Buns...

Hello my friends--so sorry for being a tad MIA lately! Things have been ca-raazy recently with work and my personal life, but don't worry, everything is well...just a little hectic!

I am super excited to go on our Playa del Carmen and Mayan Riviera Vacay in less than a week! I have been packing little by little and my anticipation is building...

One question that obviously came to my mind when planning for the extremely hot and humid forecast was what am I going to do with my hair?? Well, answer solved: the beautiful twisted bun. There are so many gorgeous ways to pull back your hair now, yet this simple and sophisticated look has swept me off my feet. Braids were all the craze last year and this year it is ALL about pretty twists and buns. Done and done!

Burning Red Hot

Although there is nothing new about this fiery color, it has repeatedly captured my attention as a must-have for my summer wardrobe. Whether it be a fabulous red pair of pants (which is on my shopping list), a pop of vibrant red color for the lips, a red Zara inspired skirt or a red hot clutch, the color simply adds the perfect pop for any Summer wardrobe.

The color has an especially fresh take when paired with natural palettes, although on the Spring and Summer runways, the color has been paired with other brights as well, which definitely add a fun & daring punch. However, my current obsession has to be this simply chic and classic combo: camel, black and red. I simply cannot get enough!

It's official--red is the new black. It can be paired with essentially any color and is the perfect accompaniment to these hot summer months.

Free People "Ode to Summer"

I hope everyone had a fabulous and relaxing weekend! It got quite warm here in the Bay Area, and although I was not lounging on the beach in a breezy Free People ensemble, I was laying out by the pool napping, reading and being incredibly lazy in the warm summer rays. It was the absolute perfect weekend--I hope yours was as well?

Although the new work week began (siiiigh), I hope this effortless Free People spread takes your mind to a reposed and incredibly eased state of mind. Have a beautiful and calming day, my friends!
