Aww Weekend Time

Laying poolside, long naps, relaxed dinners outside, and being with family and friends basically sums up my weekend in a nutshell. I couldn't ask for anything more perfect! Have a wonderful weekend my loves...

Velvet Lust

I know that it is still Summer, and technically velvet is a Winter wonder, but I can't help but being drawn to this plush fabric in decor. Velvet brings an instant element of coziness paired with chic--something that you can never go wrong with! I am literally obsessed with the navy velvet headboard in the first picture, coupled with the silk tie-die pillows and throw. With the curtains layered behind the headboard and the mirrored side-table, I have literally died and gone to bedroom heaven. Wow.

I am officially on the hunt for a velvet arm chair, pillow, or headboard...velvet is a definite must!

Red and Gold Drama

I have always been infatuated by this classic color combo, so naturally I had to post these two gorgeous pics. How stunning is the bedroom with the fiery red throw against the exquisite white bed. Not to mention, I am adoring that bed-frame!

I anticipate red lips and gold nails in the near future...tomorrow perhaps?

Back to Work: How did you accessorize today?

Not gonna lie, when Monday roles around, I look at my jewelry collection and scratch my head, since I am still groggy from the weekend! So, I proceed to layer random bracelets and bangles and call it a day. I am always looking for a hint of inspiration!

Hope these fabulous layers upon layers of bedazzlement (not to mention those fabulous leopard shoes) bring you revelation on what all the fun things you can do with your current accessories at home...On that note, how did you accessorize today?

A Historic Home's New-World Charm

Designer Ted Tuttle’s renovated Colonial home in Centralia, Washington, has an exquisite mix of modern furnishings paired with delicate antiques, including a daybed by Mies van der Rohe and wood stumps from Pottery Barn. The room has the perfect mix of formality while still containing an airy and relaxing element--something tricky to accomplish.

I never would have thought to do wicker chairs in this formal dining room, but due to the shape and black shade, the chairs actually work perfectly paired with the dining table and oak floors.

The bedroom, like the rest of the house, has the perfect mix of old world and new, elegant without being overly stuffy. In fact, the room is incredibly soothing while still adding fun elements like pops of cheetah prints paired with the old-world dresser and blue vase.

I have always been a sucker for all-white bathrooms, with of course an attached dressing room.

Overall, my favorite aspect of the re-design is how Ted Tuttle kept the integrity of the old-world character of the home, while still maintaining a sense of fabulous freshness and memorability.

A Friday Full Of House Envy

Velvet, tie-dye curtains and beautiful blue pattern galore! I seriously almost fell out of my chair when I found this absolutely stunning and simply chic living room and home from here and here. How gorgeous are those velvet chevron print chairs??

I also love how the kitchen above still seamlessly flows from the rest of the house, with it's dark gray wallpaper and violet chairs.
And now the dining room. This has to be one of the most fabulous dining areas that I have seen. I love how the Moroccan inspired chairs pop in the room, perfectly contrasting the navy walls and mahogany modern dining table. Not to mention--that chandelier!! I have died and gone to dining room heaven!
And after a night of fine dining and entertaining, what better place to curl up than this extremely soothing monochromatic taupe bedroom full of texture and drama!

Monochromatic Mavens

Easy, breezy and monochromatic tones are all the rage this summer. Not only are they flattering and extremely elongating, (hello, sold on that alone), but they are also incredibly chic and can have a dramatic impact.

I am adoring Emily's look in the last picture of the blue stripes and navy skirt--quintessentially Summer style at it's best! However, all of these stylistas totally have the look down, like Anh in her all nude ensemble and grey . Or, we can always throw on a loose white button up and pair it with loose white shorts, skirt or pants and a fabulous pair of nude sandals and we are ready to rock this monochromatic look...

I think that I found my Friday outfit inspiration for tomorrow ; )
