I got the idea for this post thanks to my younger sister, Caroline. She is literally obsessed with any decor that is pure white. She doesn't mind
blue and white decor now and then, but she really loves the crisp, clean, and happy look of white on white. Since I am drawn to all things
colorful and bright, our differentiation in decorating many times leads to passionate discussion. I many times argue how boring white is, and say how you always need color to make a space come alive. However, after doing more research on "white" decor, I realized how truly calming, sophisticated, and truly fabulous white can be. Now, I can admit, white decor can be really gorgeous and ethereal. Take a look at some of the inspirational pics that I found.

"Don't be afraid of pure white. People have a tendency to think it's harsh, so they add a little blue or a little ochre, but pure white is really beautiful. The thing about mixing different whites is that they shouldn't be just a little different: You should be able to see that the difference is intentional. I love ivory- or bone-colored fabrics with white walls." —Abigail Turin, designer, San Francisco
